A Productive Weekend

I finished 3 projects this weekend and wanted to share them with you. Free-motion quilting is something I have been working on for a long time, and I think my lack of artistic eye is a detriment, but this quilt does show some progress.

The actual size is Twin Bed size, and the fun of this is that it was all scraps from former projects and paper pieced. The 5" borders around the outside is what I was most concerned about. Any stitching on black is just going to pop, so I knew it would have to be well done. I'm pretty happy with this.

On a day trip up to Spin in Sturgeon Bay, I purchased the yarn (wool/silk) to make this cowl, which turned out pretty well. I have always liked linen stitch looking knitting patterns and this one is no exception. I finally finished this on Saturday. Haven't worn it yet.

My final project was a hairband for my grand daughter. She is a gymnast and wears hair bands all the time to keep her hair out of the way. This is a basic 6-stitch cable worked out of Cascade Fascination (which is stretch). Then I hand stitched it over a standard elastic type hairband that you can buy at an pharmacy in the hair section.
